Abel #24454 is a red and white male Retriever and Terrier mix. He is approximately 4 years, 1 month old. He weighs 48.5 lbs.. He has been neutered and microchipped.  He was picked up stray by an animal control officer on 8/31/26. Unregistered microchip. Contacted implanting rescue and left message at # they had on file. He is gentle and affectionate. He is calm and low energy. He is heartworm positive and will need extra veterinary care. He was tested in the shelter and did well with other dogs. He is leash broken. He sits on command. He is a little timid at first and may need a quiet environment or some extra socialization work. Meds: heartworm positive, distemper/parvo, pyrantal deworm, bordetella/parainfluenza.

“Abel” is a sweet and shy boy available for adoption at Walton Co Animal Control in Monroe, GA. He might like to play it cool at first, but he’s a real snuggle bug after just a few minutes of sweet talk. He was picked up stray on 8/31/26. His microchip was implanted by a rescue a few years back, but the person they had on file as his adopter never called back. So now he’s ready to start a new life with you! He is already neutered and did well interacting with another dog in the shelter.
